Every year in February over 325 elite college football players make the trip to Indianapolis, Indiana to endure an assortment of physical and psychological tests.  These tests are designed to measure intelligence, personality, size, body composition, speed, agility, power, strength, and endurance.  General Managers, player personnel directors, and coaches from every NFL team are in attendance to witness and examine each player’s test results. The results from the combine along with game footage are two major parts of the evaluation process that aid in predicting a player’s chance of success in professional football.  The combine experience lasts three days, and it is the BIGGEST job interview of a football player’s life.
You may not be to the point in your football career where you are preparing for the NFL combine.  However, your physical attributes will be tested all throughout your playing career.  Whether that is at a high school, regional or college camp, pro day, or the before mentioned NFL combine, players are put through a battery of tests and drills to aid coaches/personnel members in the evaluation process of football players’ future success.  The tests are designed to assess an athlete’s sports performance qualities, and the results of tests have a significant impact on an athlete’s career opportunities.  Therefore, preparation is absolutely imperative, and it must not go overlooked.

Perhaps you’re a high school football prospect trying to get a college scholarship offer.   If so, then every college camp or regional camp you attend is essentially an opportunity to display your talents and abilities to increase the likelihood of receiving that scholarship offer.  Therefore, thorough preparation is essential to maximize your results and opportunities.
It is important to note that athletes should prepare for specific tests (technique), and maximize their physical conditioning (training).   By combining these two components the athlete will have comprehensive preparation that will transfer to the field and combine setting.  At Tom Campbell Fitness & Sports Performance athletes are prepared for their sport and for combine settings.  It is vital to prepare for both aspects because they are linked.  We focus on becoming bigger, faster, and stronger and that transfers to the field and the combine.
If you are preparing for a combine, or you need to train for your sport, Tom Campbell Fitness & Sports Performance is here to help! Call 662-435-0598 or e-mail tomcampbellfitness@gmail.com, and lets get started today.
